HVAC Answering Service
In the expanding world of the heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) industry, it is important that your clients can reach you 24/7. One easy and cost-effective way to do this is through the use of an answering service.
With the Global Warming trend, HVAC companies can expect heightened demand for installations, as well as yearly maintenance and repair services during the summer and winter months. Don’t lose out to your competition just because you don’t have someone on the phones around the clock.
These days, it is easy (and less expensive than you think) to hire a well-trained answering service to answer your overflow and after-hours calls.
No One Wants to Leave a Voicemail!
Eighty percent of people simply hang up the phone when they get an answering machine. They don’t want to have to call another number or get the message to call back during normal business hours.
They want to speak to a human who will help them with their problem, now. An answering service can get detailed information from the callers; provide first level customer service (if needed), take the message and dispatch to the on-call tech via email, text, fax or call. We customize this to each business per your protocols.
How Does an Answering Service Work?
Antietam Call Center would generate your business a local number to forward your calls to during lunch, after hours, weekends or anytime we are needed. Once forwarded to our call center a well-trained operator will answer your calls with your company’s customized script.
If a client or potential client would call in and get a voicemail or if the line is busy you may miss out on incoming revenue. However, if you have a friendly, well-trained operator answering your phone, you are much more likely to capture that revenue.
Crazy Hours
The summer and winter months can be extremely busy for HVAC companies. You and your staff are going from appointment to appointment with hardly any downtime. Calls come in all hours of the day and night from clients and potential clients that need your help. You don’t want to be limited to the hours of your company’s receptionist, do you?
An answering service is a cost-effective way that you can ensure that you are getting all your calls no matter what time they come in.
Many HVAC owners forward calls directly to their personal cell phone so they won’t miss calls, however, this takes tolls on their work\life balance. Why not hire a trained staff take the calls for you and dispatch out to your on-call technicians? This way you have the peace of mind knowing that your business can still run efficiently while you sleep or take a much-needed vacation.
Can My Business Afford an Answering Service?
The answer is YES. Normally the cost of an answering service can be made up with one after hours service call.
The best part about having an answering service take your calls is that you are only billed for the time that our operators are working with your clients and delivering your messages.
People want to have a human answer the phone when they have an emergency and they like to know that their problem will be addressed. A well-trained operator can give both you and your client the peace of mind needed in an emergency situation.

I like your point about how hardly anyone leaves a voicemail. I don’t ever leave a voicemail. I think that a customer would just call the next company available and you could lose a lot of clients if you’re relying on voicemail. So, an answering service seems like a great way to keep those clients.
